#120: British social climber Tina Brown spent the 1980s in New York City thriving in a decadent world of crass rich people so repulsive that they would make today's gilded age plutocrats blush. Her book The Vanity Fair Diaries (2017) is a horror show of celebrity worship, Kissinger worship and Reagan worship. It's a slavish hagiography that deifies her former corporate masters and their Wall Street cronies.
